JoJo and Jeremy Sumpter as Scarlet and Nathan

We have decided to trace a picture of JoJo on Animation-ish, and create her into a moving avatar - starring as Scarlet. Jeremy Sumpter (Also known as Peter Pan when he was younger), will be Nathan in our story.

JoJo

Jeremy Sumpter

I will be creating scenes 5,9,10,11,13,14,16, while Abbie will be completing scenes 3,4,6,7,8,12, 15 and we will both create the two slides which are using IStopMotion.

Storyboard

Having a storyboard is an important step in perfecting the art of creating move clips, as it gives a guide on how to create the movie, and what to do next.

Today was A FairyTale

Our assignment is based on this storyline:

This will be a love story of two teenagers in highschool, with two majorly different social statuses, the male being the popular one, and the female being the shy and unknown character. These two characters have a secret crush on each other, but are unaware of the other ones likings. The first scene is in the lockers at their High School, and Nathan, the popular character, is with a group of his friends and Scarlet, the shy character, is casually walking past the group. Scarlet has quick glances towards Nathan, and Nathan does the same, although both characters are unaware that they both have been looking at each other. Scarlet is then walking by herself out the door, and begins the journey of walking home. As Anthony and Scarlet are neighbours, they walk home together, with Anthony walking ahead of Scarlet. Suddenly, Scarlet trips over a stone, and Anthony turns around to help her up, and as Scarlet looks up at Anthony, He magically has medieval clothes. They then dance, and there are close shots of their faces being close together. The next day, Scarlet comes to school and finds Nathan at school with another girl, little does she know, that he is actually helping her with her assignment. Scarlet then goes onto her computer finding a message from Nathan, explaining what had happened. They then hold hands and walk of to the distance, living happily ever after.

Abbie and I have fully completed our story board, and we are going to scan them onto our blogs.

We are now ready to start creating our animation! :)

We have decided to begin with the animation, and not with the IStopMotion, as the IStopMotion involves my partner and I getting dressed up. We are concentrating on drawing the characters for our story, and making sure that every scene in our clip makes sense.

For our character Scarlet, We intend to trace a picture of 'JoJo' and we are yet to find a match for Anthony.

Assignment

We will be using a mix of IStopMotion, and Animation-Ish for our assignment. We are using IStopMotion for the first two scenes as we are zooming in on a book, which will open by itself. There will then be an animation on the page, which will come to life. Then, the story will continue and at the end, the picture will zoom out of the book, and the book will close.

The background song for our animation will be 'Today was a Fairy Tale' By Taylor Swift.

IStopMotion Experiment

We have now learnt about IStopMotion, and I decided to test IStopMotion out, by creating a short video on my pencil case. The next thing I will test is IStopMotion but with Photoshop included.
I did this video, by moving the objects very small amounts, then taking a picture. I repeated this step a various amount of times, to make it seem like the objects are moving by themselves. I had to make sure I didn't move the objects to far at a time, as otherwise it would not look realistic.

Here is my first IStopMotion Experiment...

Animation-ish Experiment

I have decided to create another Animation-ish experiment, of a moving creature. The creature was already created, but I kept multiplying the layer and then erasing the main outline of the creature, and redoing it to make it look 'sketchy' and moving. I also kept re-drawing the feet for four slides, to make it look like the feet are moving. I did the same for the tail. Also, for the eyes, I wanted to make it seem like the creature was alive, and blinking. I did this, by erasing the eye on one slide, and drawing a slightly curved line to make it look like its eye is closed. Then, I re drew the spots various times, to implement that the creature was moving. I then copied and pasted the series of slides various times, and then added a Key Frame on the first slide, and draged the drawing back (off the slide), and I added another Key Frame on the last slide, and dragged it forward (off the slide).

Here is my third Animation-ish experiment of a walking creation...
